The Ballerina

So I bought a new camera on the weekend, I LOVE it!!!! It is a Nikon Digital SLR and I am totally obsessed. Amelia gave me the perfect opportunity for my first photoshoot. I am still trying to figure out how my camera works and have not clue yet what half the buttons do but my enforced rest has allowed me time to read the manual J

 

False Alarm

So with Amelia I didn’t really have any instances where I was wondering if I might be in labour or might not, it jut seemed to be a long waiting game and the night I finally did there was no question that stubborn little kid had finally been coax out given the threat of being induced the next day. Well Jellybean Smartie seems abit more anxious to make his appearance or maybe I am just more anxious for him to be here. Anyways, Friday afternoon I was at work and I just didn’t feel right, I had lots of aches and then I started having contractions, not painful ones but Braxton Hicks style. I called my doctor and was told to head into labour and delivery to get checked out. I am currently at 35.5 weeks so it is still abit early.

The verdict was that I wasn’t in labour everything seemed fine but I was to rest and not do anything for the weekend. I was really impressed with the efficiency of the hospital, they had me in and checked out monitored within 20min, I spoke with my doctor and all up it was only about 45min.

I have discovered that I am not very good a resting.

In other news Jeff had his PMP exam on Sunday and he passed, yipeeee!!!!  I am so happy for him!!!

Amelia had her first gymnastics class this weekend, John and I went, it was really funny. For the first class they allowed us in to watch but I understand that after this class parents are relegated to the hallway. Amelia is in the class with her best friend from Heather’s, Macy. They were both sooo happy to see each other when we arrived, there was much hugging. This week’s class involved the balance beam and the mini trampoline; it was very cute to watch them all.

Tomorrow night Amelia starts ballet, also with Macy. She is PUMPED!!

On Saturday, my friend Danielle and Denise threw me a baby shower. I was so nice to see everyone and Felix was thoroughly spoiled, he will be a very well dressed little guy. It was my idea of a perfect shower, yummy food, friends and even abit of wine.

It’s a Boy and He is Almost Here!!!

Yup we are having a boy, apparently this is know as a millionaire’s family, a term I had never heard until I found out I was having a boy, now everyone seems to know this. Anyways we have known for quite sometime that we were having a boy, I have just been remiss in typing up a post. We are all (Jeff, Amelia and myself) very excited. Amelia refers to the baby as hers and will tell you if asked that her baby will be here when the trees start to shiver and the leaves fall off. This excitement from Amelia has been on going for awhile but things haven’t all been so happy. When we first told her it was a boy she refused to talk about it or refer to it as a boy and when pushed she yelled at us that she “doesn’t want to talk about boys anymore” then shut her mouth and wouldn’t talk to us the rest of the ride home from school… She has turned around on this now though and she is very cute, I think she likes the idea of being the big sister. We get a lot of “only big sisters can do this” or “When I am big sister I will…”

 

I only have 2 and abit weeks left of work, I finish up on Oct 8^th and I am still booked in for my c-section on the 17^th. I am taking just over a week off but with thanksgiving and my brother’s visit squeezed in there I think the time will fly.

 

I think with Amelia there was the combination of excitement, a lot more to prepare and not knowing when exactly she was coming but it seems we were far more organised for her. This time we don’t have much to do but we really haven’t done much. I have bought clothes, much to my husbands dismay J, Jeff was a superstar and remembered that we need to raise the crib back up, which he has done and I have collected all the Amelia/girly stuff from in the nursery and have assembled it in a pile (it hasn’t really gone anywhere though).  I did start to pull baby stuff out of the storage room the other night but I tackled the stroller first and discovered it had cat pee on it which then led to me searching the house for Dexter to wring his neck (lucky for him he was no where to be found), anyways after that discovery I lost my focus, eep better check the car seat for Dexter’s trade mark.

 

I am doing pretty well, I feel like a whale and my doctor tells me I am measuring 39 weeks though I am 35, bah! I think this one might rival his sister. Sleeping is abit of an ordeal and I have some great heartburn but other than that all is well. Work is keeping me busy so time is flying.

 

In other general news, we have all had a nice summer though as you can probably tell from the pics we have posted, we have demo’d the slanty shanty and have been working away on putting up a deck in its place. Jeff and John have been quite the construction crew, unfortunately due to all the issues with nothing on the based shanty being square and my little request for cabinets and a bench this project has eaten up most of the summer. Jeff and I have vowed that there is nothing that could make us move until we get to enjoy at least on summer on our deck.

 

Amelia has been really good, she is now lovin’ school and she seems to be doing really well there. She has put an end to Pull-ups and she is in undies night and day, yipeee!!!! It is going to be hard going back to changing diapers!!!! We have signed Amelia up for ballet lessons and gymnastics this fall with her friend Macy. She is so excited!!! Not to worry I will post pics. I really wanted to sign her up for some more sport type activities but she wasn’t so keen so I thought for this season we would give in.

 

Well I’ll try to get back on track with my posts, I wouldn’t want Baby No. 2 to feel neglected and not get his equal amount of embarrassment when he is older that his embarrassing miss haps were posted on the internet for all to read.
